Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much is the club membership and what do I get out of it?
A: Our club membership fee is $350 annually. This annual fee covers your insurance, airport improvement fees (airside access, parking, electricity etc.), NavCanada fees, checkout and currency checks with our check pilot, and all the administrative work involved.

Q: How much is the cost of fuel?
A: There are many variables involved with the cost of fuel. Fuel prices tend to fluctuate constantly. However, the C150, burns on average around 5USG/hour (~18-20 litres). With that in mind and from the feed back received from our members, once properly leaned, fuel cost has been between $45-55/hour in the past year depending on where you fuel the plane. We do tend to notify our members of the most affordable fuel stations within our operational area.

Q: How much is the dry cost of rental?
A: We rent our airplanes on dry rates. We operate out of different areas/airports and depending on where you'll be renting from, the prices slightly vary. Please contact us and inquire within for the correct and most up to date info on pricing.

Q: What other fees are there other than membership, fuel and rental?
A: There is normally no other fees other than those mentioned above. If you do go to another airport where they have landing and ramp fees (other than our base airports), you will be responsible for such fees.

Q: What do you do with all the income from the the members and rentals?
A: At this point we are re-investing all the money generated, right back into our operation. Namely, we are managing the generated revenue towards building an aircraft hangar for our operation and also towards repainting all aircraft with the same paint scheme to provide a stronger professional image. Furthermore we are also investing the money in updating many interior parts of our aircraft, namely installing ADSB transponders, 406 ELTs and modern up to date GPS units.

Q: Can I take the aircraft somewhere else overnight for long stays?
A: Yes and yes! This is the whole point of stress free aircraft rentals from a flying club. You are however responsible for any landing or ramp fees at other airports which are not any of our bases. We do ask you to give us a heads up if you're looking to go outside of Canada and/or going for trips of 5 days or longer.

Q: Can I take the airplane to the USA?
A: You can take the aircraft to the United States as of the Summer of 2022. We are in the process of evaluating the demand for it and also getting the proper administrative and maintenance support for such trips.

Q: What if the aircraft breaks down when I am away from base?
A: We normally ask that you pay for the repairs and we will reimburse you. However, if it is found that the snag was due to negligence towards our operational limitations and/or the CARs, you'll be responsible for the maintenance cost.

Q: Do you offer any discounts for large rental blocks?
A: Yes, we do offer 50 and 100-hour blocks and the discount rates for those blocks can be discussed and agreed upon.
